There are abundant opportunities for recreation in the Campbell River area. During the winter months, you'll enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing and snow boarding at nearby Mt. Washington.

During the spring, summer and fall, you'll enjoy hiking, camping, backpacking and other outdoor activities at Strathcona Provincial Park, the province's oldest and largest park. There are also other beautiful parks including Elk Falls Park.

If you'd like to see Desolation Sound from below, check out the local diving companies. The diving is considered excellent here. The diving is considered some of the finest in the world which includes The Columbia, a sunken ship, as a created artificial reef.

If you're interested in local history, you'll enjoy the Museum at Campbell Riverand the Museum at Cape Mudge, which features artifacts and native history on our local First Nations people, the Kwakiutl.

Of course, there is always bicycling, whale watching tours and plenty of scenic walkways along Campbell River's beautiful waterfront.
